Laura is the Practice Principal graduating as one of the top graduates in her year from Queens University in Belfast to receive an Honors degree in 2005. In 2012 Laura completed a series of exams in London to achieve her MJDF from Royal College of Surgeons, England. And in 2019 achieved an Gold Medal award for achieving the highest marks in her Diploma in Orthodontics. She is proud to have published a paper in a dental journal on Orthodontic Management of Infraoccluded Primary Molar Teeth.
Laura is a member of the Irish Dental Association (IDA) and also a member of the Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (IAAD). Laura has been involved in public research on Oral Cancer in the Journal of Oral Oncology and she continues to screen every patient for warning signs of cancer in every dental examination. She pays close attention to the latest developments in the field of dentistry and completes several courses a year to keep up with these developments. Her recent courses have focused mostly on the cosmetic aspect of dentistry. Her particular interest is in short term adult orthodontics and Laura is confident to offer patients CFAST braces (a six month cosmetic brace for adults) and facial aesthetics enhancement. Kingscourt Dental is proud to be Ireland's (only) Centre of Excellence in CFAST braces.
Another of Laura’s attributes is her patience and care when treating nervous patients. Laura’s calming nature and deep understanding of dental phobias mean that even the most severe fears can be overcome during her treatments. Laura is determined to change the negative associations people have about dentists and strongly believes she can work with any level of dental fear.
In her spare time Laura spends it with her husband and three kids. She enjoys running and going to the gym as well as meeting friends for coffee. Laura loves to travel to new countries and cities. Amongst her favourite holidays with her family is skiing.
