Dental Implants are a method of replacing one or more teeth that have been lost from any part of the mouth. They are carried out by specially trained oral surgeons and involve placement of a small titanium or metal free screw into the position of the missing tooth. We have an excellent Oral Surgeon at Kingscourt Dental with over 15 years of experience.
The suitability of an area of the mouth for an implant depends on several factors therefore an assessment and special x-ray is often needed to determine the quality and quantity of bone available to take the implant. Good after care of the implant is as important as good care of actual teeth and the implant should be examined with the rest of your teeth as part of your routine examination.
